01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Aromatic roasted meats and an array of wine-friendly small plates welcome guests at Bonte. Located in the Tsukuda neighbourhood along the Sumida River, the dining room has an unpretentious, comfortable atmosphere where you can unwind without ceremony.

Beginning with house-made appetisers

For the first pour at your table, consider the pate de campagne—made from domestic pork combined with chicken livers, hearts, and aromatic vegetables, then slowly cooked at low temperature—or the pork rillettes simmered in white wine to concentrate their flavour. Freshly sliced 24-month aged prosciutto and oven-baked escargot roasted in butter scented with herbs and garlic further expand the selection of savoury bites.

Wild game and roasted meats take centre stage

The main courses are highlighted by roasted Mie Gibier deer or wild boar. Guests will also find meat dishes tailored to each cut's character, such as tender lamb short loin roast and bone-in domestic chicken roasted after a preliminary confit. The beef steak of the day, prepared with cuts and origins that rotate, makes another robust choice when you crave a substantial dinner.

Diverse pours and comforting finales

The drink menu complements the food with an extensive wine list alongside draft beer, highballs, and Tokushima sudachi sour. To finish, comforting choices include Bonte's European-style bistro curry, simmered with beef tendon and vegetables for natural depth, as well as various penne dishes.

With counter seating, tables, and outdoor terrace space, the restaurant accommodates everything from a casual solo lunch to an unhurried dinner shared among companions.
